Colon Cancer Rising in Young Adults

The Shifting Tide of Colorectal Cancer in Young Adults A recent Swiss study has revealed an alarming trend: while colon cancer rates among older adults have declined due to increased screening, cases are rising among younger adults.

Over four decades and nearly 100,000 cases, the data shows a steep increase in diagnoses under 50 years old.

In Switzerland alone, around 6% of all colorectal cancer cases now occur in individuals under 50, with incidence rates rising by about 0. 5% per year.
